Position Summary:
You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities on a global scale in the Marketplace and Sourcing Services pillars of the company. Once you have identified a prospective client, you will work closely with the heads of those pillars and the commercial team to develop proposals, present them and implement them into the business. You will have a strong background in international business, preferably with experience in sales of both product and services, and excellent communication, negotiation and decision making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and connect with prospective customers for the business, maintaining a strong pipeline of good quality opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (including C-suite) in prospective customers.
- Work with internal teams to develop business plans and operating procedures for new customers as part of the pitch and negotiation process.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to potential customers and internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Actively input on sales strategy development and marketing strategies based on market and customer feedback.
- Attend relevant trade shows and industry events.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions and the competitive landscape.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong understanding of international business practices and routes to market.
- Excellent communication skills, both in-person and over the internet.
- Commercially competent – be able to collaborate on and contribute to the analysis of the projected profitability of new customers.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a strategic mindset.
- Minimum of 5 years in business development, ideally in a global context.
- Language skills: Business English (B2 or higher). Other languages are an advantage.
- Other skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
