How would you describe Exertis Supply Chain’s role as a global services partner, and what industries benefit most from our support?

At our core, we are an enabler for other businesses. That means that we take their problems, blockers or constraints and work with them to create a service portfolio that solves those problems and allows the business to achieve the goal they are working towards. Some examples (and work we already do) are helping brands enter new markets to increase their sales, consolidating suppliers to reduce overhead, optimising poorly performing factories and supply chains to address production quality and shortfall, helping clients find, engineer and produce new products, and providing localisation, kitting and customised packaging solutions.

One of the key parts of our service is that we are industry-agnostic – we can work with anyone. Our expertise and resources translate across almost every sector where there is a physical product.

What end-to-end services do we provide that make it easier for businesses to operate internationally?

Over the last few years, it has become increasingly apparent that businesses today often struggle with the complexities of setting themselves up to enable trade outside of their home territories, whether that’s placing purchase orders or selling. Not only is it time consuming to understand what to do in different parts of the world, it can also be expensive and requires resources on an ongoing basis; human, digital or capital! Take the example of a Canadian company wanting to start selling a product in Europe – they might need to consider setting up a European business, registering for VAT, creating relationships with freight companies and customs agencies, engaging a 3PL, and providing staff to run a localised go to market strategy. When we talk about an end-to-end service, it means that we can work with an organisation to remove their pain points and expense by using our existing footprint to streamline their path to international trade. Our local teams are a key part of our service provision; our team in China provides a suite of services and relationship management designed to improve engagement between factories, agencies and non-China entities, our Poland facility serves as our central-European hub for operations, hosting account management, procurement and specialist functions, and our Dublin office provides global financial expertise and client consultation options. Working together, we can provide solutions for our clients starting from product concept right through to putting the product into the hands of the consumer.

How do we help companies reduce complexity and costs when expanding into new markets?

Reducing complexity for our clients is at the centre of the services we offer, as complexity is often the thing that drives cost increases, resource constraints and inefficiencies. In consultation with clients, we help them identify pain points within their organisation and pull together a selection of solutions designed to meet their goals while achieving the other business outcomes they are targeting. Very often, this involves combining disparate services that the client would otherwise have to engage separately, for example multi-country e-commerce management with return and refurbishment of product. Our breadth of expertise and resource allows us to find synergies between these services and create overall cost savings for the client.

What sets our global services apart from traditional logistics or distribution providers?

Our USP is our ability to provide an end-to-end solution, where a logistics provider or distribution company address only a small part of a product journey. Can we do the job of a logistics provider or distributor? Of course, and we build these elements into service stacks for clients as they need them. Our goal is always to create a high level of value for our clients that speaks to a long term partnership, ultimately helping our clients to build their success sustainably.
